IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
The human body is a very tricky thing!
The Pain Isolation Exam is used to find our bodies true source of pain. The sensations of pain we experience are our bodies' natural smoke detector. When something goes wrong in any one of our various systems, the resulting sensation of pain is our nervous system's way of letting the brain know that something is wrong and needs our attention.
But did you know that oftentimes the sensation of pain we are feeling is actually a referred pain?
A referred pain (also called reflective pain) is a pain one feels or perceives at a location other than the source. An example of this would be low back pain. Low back pain is the number one cause of visits to General Practice clinics in our country. But low back pain can often be a referred pain from the organs such as the liver, gallbladder, and kidneys. These organs are experiencing a disfunction, and "fire off" a signal to the brain. However, as the nervous system transmits the nerve impulses of the organ, they are occasionally misinterpreted by the brain. This can result in sensations of muscle pain and weakness.

Dr. Summers has developed and perfected an exam to determine the true source of pain, and to properly treat it. By isolating the true cause of the pain, it allows the patient to experience relief in as short of an amount of time as possible.
This is accomplished through a process of elimination, in a multi-step system. Once the true source of the pain is found, it is then eliminated, resulting in a true source of care and relief for the patient.
